Homework
Homework is a 'habit of mind' training our children to organise themselves, to make time and complete tasks, review learning and explore ideas.
I do not expect any child to work at their homework for more than 30 minutes each night...this does not include reading (really important to read for 20 minutes every night...building up that reading mileage) or learning spelling words.
This term homework will come home on Friday and is expected back at school on Wednesday morning. Hopefully this will give all the children time flexibility to complete all their homework. There is no 'punishment' for not completing homework but there are rewards for completing it and making the best possible effort.
Spelling notebooks should come home on Monday with new list words to be practised. Notebooks come back to school on Friday for testing.
I have not specified any particular format for setting out homework as I enjoy seeing how each individual completes their work...so there is no right or wrong way to 'do homework'...just the wish to see each child be the best they can be.
