Room 11

Welcome to Room 11!

We are a delightful class of Year 2
children, who are learning to think about our thinking, to wonder why, to ask
questions, and to seek answers through the Inquiry process.

When you come into Room 11, you’ll
hear us talking about our learning, sharing our ideas with each other,
listening actively and persisting to do our best.

We’re learning to write using our alphabet knowledge of letter sounds and basic words. We give other words our best go at spelling and we're learning to edit our work when we've finished. We can add describing words and read our writing to check it makes sense.

Each week, we publish our writing and on
Fridays, we share our stories and our poetry anthology with our buddies in Room 7. We love sharing our love of Literacy with our buddies!

At reading time, we read with Mrs. E, we read to a buddy and we read to ourselves. We can’t wait to take our readers home to show our families, just how clever we’re becoming with reading.

Every day, we enjoy counting forwards and backwards. We skip count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s and practice our basic facts.
And we have competitions to see who can get
around the world when solving addition and subtraction problems.

There are several places in our classroom where we can go to explore our
own interests....the art table, the 'office' table and the construction area!

Pop in sometime, to marvel at the engineering feats created with the big blocks and cylinders.

We’re also learning to solve any problems in
the playground.
We use the Colour Wheel of Choice to find the best solution. You can see a copy of it hanging in our room.

We are proud to call ourselves

'Woodland Park School Learners'!
